Privacy & Terms — in plain words

How the StarVega chat works, what it keeps, and how to have it forgotten.

Last updated 2026-07-10. Questions or a deletion request: starvega@timetrader.org.

The short version: StarVega is an AI, not a person. You don't need an account to chat. We keep chats for a short time to keep her safe and make her better, and your messages are sent to an AI provider to write a reply. We never sell your data, and you can ask us to delete your chats.

Who she is

StarVega is an AI assistant aboard TimeTrader — a small independent fleet that studies horse racing as data and history. She is not a person, not a licensed professional, and not a tipster: she does not give betting, wagering, or financial advice. Anything she says can be imperfect, so please don't rely on it as advice.

Who it's for

TimeTrader is a general-audience site for ages 13 and up. If you are under 13, please don't use the chat. We don't knowingly collect information from children; if you tell her personal details, she is instructed not to keep or act on them.

What the chat keeps

We keep these to spot abuse, keep her safe, and improve her answers — nothing else.

How long

Chat records are automatically deleted after 90 days.

AI providers

To write a reply, your message is sent to an AI service that runs the language model: Groq for anonymous visitors and Anthropic (Claude) for signed-in members. Their handling of data is governed by their own terms. Don't share anything private or sensitive in the chat.

What we don't do

Your choices

Email starvega@timetrader.org to ask what we hold or to request deletion. Because chats are stored under a rotating scrambled fingerprint (not your identity), include enough detail (rough time, what you asked) so we can find and remove them.

If you're struggling

StarVega isn't a crisis service. If you're in distress, please reach real help: 988 (US Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) or 1-800-GAMBLER (problem gambling).
